About me, Bart Bruijnen

I graduated in 2001 as a linguist at the University of Utrecht, and before that I spent several years studying other academic fields, namely: pharmacy, computer science, sociology and philosophy of science.
During my studies I followed many courses on language acquisition, and I have, also in my personal life, a lot of experience with the process of learning Dutch as a second language.

Because of my broad education and work experience I am a skilled analytical thinker and very able to use a different perspective when approaching various issues. Moreover, my very varied background has the advantage that I can easily find common ground.
In my spare time I like to write prose and poetry, and I also have a column in De Schakel, the newspaper of Waalre, the town where I live with my wife and four sons.
